First of all thanks for stopping by my website. My aim is to help you think more and know more about how you do business and the internet.

If you want to make your business successful you are going to have to use the internet. Within the pages of this blog you are going to find current useful knowledge you can use to make a difference straight away.

I aim to blog Monday to Friday first thing in the morning (GMT London). If you subscribe to the blog you will get an email with that latest posts on delivered. This way if there’s something in there you feel you can use to help your business you can actually put it into practice there and then. Failing that you can pretend that having read it, you know all about it and do nothing while your competitors get another advantage.

To make the site more user friendly I have actually written a page dedicated to what to expect from it. You can (and probably should) read it here.

On the other hand, if you are reading this we have or might be doing some business together. If that is the case then no doubt we will speak in person very soon and I’m sure you will be able to find out anything “about” me you like in person… just ask :-)

In the meantime to give you a bit of background info here’s a brief bio and some of the stuff people tell me I’m quite good at:

Originally born in Hull I now live near to Retford in Notts with my wife Cara and three amazing kids.

I spent most of my early career in sales – my first job aged 15 was door to door canvassing for a double glazing company (the things we do for money)! I realised I was pretty good at selling stuff and quickly progressed my career to hold various sales management positions until I finally started running my own businesses.

During my early twenties I was involved in a few call centre businesses that where for a brief moment very successful. During that time we employed hundreds of agents cold calling businesses and the public to generate leads for the various products, mostly financial services and telecoms. Around the time Google launched Adwords we heard that we might be able to use this new thing called the internet to generate our leads so, we paid a load of cash to have a website built and set up our very own Adwords campaign.

We had one Ad group (called Adgroup #1) with one advert and one keyword. With a lot of excitement we set it live and waited for something to happen. Within a few minutes our first lead dropped in via the online contact form. I printed it out and passed it to the best salesman we had on the team with instructions to make sure he sold them “something”.

Within a  few moments of calling the deal was being done and I had discovered internet marketing.

Since that day I never really looked back. I got out of call centres and spent a few years learning how to do online marketing properly and how to build websites. Combining those skills with my ability to sell stuff has proven pretty lucrative and I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with some great businesses and make some good friends. If you interested you can find out what I’m working on that the moment by clicking here.

These days I do a mixture of consulting and design work for clients combined with working on various projects of my own. I also like to run really long distances, do the odd triathlon and a little bit of mixed martial arts . Between my young family, various business and sporting interests I’m usually a pretty busy bloke but I always try and find time to have a catch up and a coffee with the people I meet so, if we haven’t spoken for a while or you want to get to know me in person then feel free to contact me.
